Να σταματήσει το ιμπεριαλιστικό εμπάργκο των ΗΠΑ κατά της Κούβας!
Τον Απρίλη του 2019, η κυβέρνηση των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών ενέτεινε τα μέτρα κατά της Κούβας, σε μια απόπειρα περαιτέρω στραγγαλισμού της Κούβας. Τα νέα αυτά μέτρα περιλαμβάνουν την ενεργοποίηση του Άρθρου 3 του Νόμου Χελμς-Μπάρτον – που συνεπάγεται ότι ξένες οντότητες που δραστηριοποιούνται στην Κούβα μπορούν πλέον να υποστούν μηνύσεις σε δικαστήρια των ΗΠΑ – καθώς και κυρώσεις σε πλοιοκτήτριες εταιρίες που μεταφέρουν πετρέλαιο από τη Βενεζουέλα στην Κούβα, περιορισμούς στις επισκέψεις πολιτών των ΗΠΑ στο νησί, και περιορισμούς στα εμβάσματα που στέλνουν Κουβανοί που διαμένουν στις ΗΠΑ προς τις οικογένειές τους στην Κούβα.Τα μέτρα αυτά στερούν τις δυνατότητες ανάπτυξης της χώρας και πλήττουν σκληρά το βιοτικό επίπεδο του λαού της.
Απαιτούμε την άμεση άρση του οικονομικού, εμπορικού και χρηματοπιστωτικού αποκλεισμού που επιβάλλουν οι ΗΠΑ κατά της Κούβας. Επίσης απαιτούμε από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση να αρνηθεί ρητά να συμμορφωθεί με τις διατάξεις του αποκλεισμού.Η απαίτηση για άσρη του αποκλεισμού των ΗΠΑ αποκτά ακόμη πιο επιτακτικό χαρακτήρα την περίοδο που διανύουμε, μια περίοδος παγκόσμιας πανδημίας του κορονοϊού (με εκατομμύρια κρούσματα και εκατοντάδες χιλιάδες θανάτους σε όλο τον πλανήτη). Αυτή η περίοδος θα έπρεπε να σταθεί η αφορμή ώστε όλες οι χώρες να στραφούν στην κατεύθυνση της διεθνούς συνεργασίας και αλληλοβοήθειας και να εγκαταλείψουν τις πολιτικές του οικονομικού ανταγωνισμού, της λεηλασίας των αδυνάτων, των πολέμων και του οικολογικού στραγγαλισμού του πλανήτη. Οι λαοί επιζητούν και παλεύουν για μια διαφορετική πορεία της ανθρωπότητας.
Η Κούβα δεν απειλεί καμία άλλη χώρα, απεναντίας βοηθά, όπως μπορεί, άλλους λαούς όταν υπάρχει ανάγκη και της ζητηθεί κάτι τέτοιο. Οι Κουβανέζικες ιατρικές μπριγάδες έχουν προσφέρει βοήθεια και αλληλεγγύη σε πάρα πολλές δοκιμαζόμενες χώρες, κάτι που ζούμε και σήμερα εν μέσω της πανδημίας του κορονοϊού.Ο λαός της Κούβας δεν αξίζει μια τέτοια άδικη και εγκληματική συμπεριφορά από τον πανίσχυρο γείτονα, τις ΗΠΑ. Ο λαός της Κούβας έχει το δικαίωμα να επιλέξει το δικό του δρόμο, χωρίς εξωτερικές επιθέσεις, αποκλεισμούς, κυρώσεις.

the imperialist US embargo against Cuba!

by the WORKERS UNION IN PUBLICATIONS, BOOKSTORES, PHOTO COPY CENTERS,

Since
October 1960, all U.S. governments have maintained the economic,
trade and financial blockade against the Republic of Cuba. The aim
since then has been to overthrow the Cuban Revolution and return the
country to Washington's domination.
In
April 2019, the United States government stepped up measures against
Cuba in an attempt to further strangle Cuba. These new measures
include the activation of Title 3 of the Helms-Burton Act -- which
means that foreign entities operating in Cuba can now be sued in US
courts -- as well as sanctions on shipowners transporting oil from
Venezuela to Cuba, restrictions on visits by U.S. citizens to the
island, and restrictions on remittances sent by Cubans residing in
the U.S. to their families in Cuba. These measures deprive the
country of its potential for development and are a blow to the
standard of living of its people.
We
demand the immediate lifting of the economic, trade and financial
embargo imposed by the US against Cuba. We also demand that the
European Union explicitly refuse to comply with the provisions of the
blockade.
The demand
to lift the US blockade has become even more urgent today, in the
period we are going through, a period of global Covid-19 pandemic
(with millions of cases and hundreds of thousands of deaths around
the world). This
period should be the occasion for all countries to turn to
international cooperation and mutual assistance and to abandon the
policies of economic competition, the plundering of the weak, wars
and policies that place an ecological stranglehold on the planet. The
peoples of the world yearn and
are
fighting
for
a
different course for
humanity.
Cuba does
not threaten any other country, on the contrary, as much as it is
able to it comes to the aid of other peoples, when there is a need
and a request for it to do so. Cuban medical brigades have offered
assistance and solidarity to many countries in need, and this is
something that we are seeing again today in the midst of the
coronavirus pandemic. The people of Cuba do not deserve such unjust
and criminal treatment from their powerful neighbor, the US. The
people of Cuba have the right to choose their own path, without
foreign aggression, embargos and sanctions.

Desde
octubre de 1960, todos los gobiernos de los Estados Unidos han
mantenido un bloqueo económico, comercial y financiero contra la
República de Cuba. El objetivo desde entonces ha sido derrocar la
Revolución Cubana y devolver al país a la dominación de
Washington.
En
abril de 2019, el gobierno de los Estados Unidos intensificó medidas
contra Cuba en un intento de estrangular aún más a Cuba. Estas
nuevas medidas incluyen la activación del Título 3 de la Ley
Helms-Burton - lo que significa que las entidades extranjeras que
operan en Cuba ahora pueden ser demandadas en tribunales
estadounidenses-, así como sanciones a los armadores que transportan
petróleo de Venezuela a Cuba, restricciones a las visitas de
ciudadanos estadounidenses a la isla y restricciones a las remesas
enviadas por cubanos residentes en Estados Unidos a sus familias en
Cuba. Estas medidas privan al país de su potencial de desarrollo y
son un golpe para el nivel de vida de su pueblo.
Exigimos
el levantamiento inmediato del embargo económico, comercial y
financiero impuesto por Estados Unidos contra Cuba. También exigimos
que la Unión Europea se niegue explícitamente a cumplir con las
disposiciones del bloqueo.
La
demanda de levantar el bloqueo de los Estados Unidos se ha vuelto aún
más urgente hoy en día, en el período que estamos atravesando, un
período de pandemia global del Covid-19 (con millones de casos y
cientos de miles de muertos en todo el mundo). Este período debería
ser la ocasión para que todos los países recurran a la cooperación
internacional y la asistencia mutua y abandonen las políticas de
competencia económica, el saqueo de los débiles, las guerras y las
políticas que estrangulan ecológicamente al planeta. Los pueblos
del mundo anhelan y están luchando por un rumbo diferente para la
humanidad.
Cuba no
amenaza a ningún otro país, por el contrario, a lo mejor de sus
capacidades ayuda otros pueblos, cuando hay una necesidad y se lo
solicita. Las brigadas médicas cubanas han ofrecido asistencia y
solidaridad a muchos países necesitados, y esto es algo que estamos
viendo de nuevo hoy en medio de la pandemia del coronavirus. El
pueblo de Cuba no merece un trato tan injusto y criminal de su
poderoso vecino, Estados Unidos. El pueblo de Cuba tiene derecho a
elegir su propio camino, sin agresiones extranjeras, embargos y
sanciones.
